Can I Still E-file?

Filter by Category:

You can electronically file your tax return for the current tax year and two prior tax years. You are required to paper file tax returns that are older than two prior tax years.

The cut off date for e-filing your tax return is the e-file and extension deadline: October 15 per tax year, or when the IRS closes electronic filing for the tax year. After this date, you must paper file your tax return.

This means, you must print, sign and mail your tax return to the IRS and/or state department of revenue. Along with your federal tax return, ensure to attach copies of your income statements.
